Merrick was born over 30 years ago in Garth Merrick’s family kitchen in Hereford, Texas. That’s when Garth began home-cooking food for his beloved dog, Gracie, to make sure she was eating the most wholesome and nutritious food possible. We’ve grown quite a bit since then—we have a lot more recipes for dogs and cats and a much bigger team—but we still hold true to the vision and beliefs that started it all.

From our first delivery to the last batch crafted in our own USA kitchen, we are focused on making the highest quality pet food available. We only use quality ingredients responsibly sourced from farmers and ranchers we know and trust. Our dinners are 90-95% meat, organs & bone and our animal proteins have no added hormones or antibiotics.

Fromm Family Foods is a fifth-generation family-owned and operated pet food company based in Wisconsin. Since 1904, our family has maintained a tradition of quiet innovation dedicated to the health and nutrition of animals. In the 1930s, we developed the first canine distemper vaccine. By 1949, we had introduced the concept of premium pet food to the world by pioneering the process of cooking meat and grain together to create the dry kibble food that is so popular today.

Back in 1995, our founder, Patrick, was on a hike with his Chocolate Lab, Zuke, when he shared his energy bar with him to refuel so they could finish their trek. At that moment, he realized our dogs are just like us — they need healthy treats to keep them going, too. So he created Zuke’s treats, nutrient-rich and made with the Earth's best ingredients. Today we remain a small team located in the beautiful mountain town of Durango, Colorado and we're still dedicated to creating healthy, natural dog treats and supplements.
